Create Documents
Create documents using three different methods: Blank Document, From Template, or From Existing Frames in the Print PDF for Figma plugin.
The Print PDF for Figma plugin offers three flexible ways to create documents. You can start with a blank document and customize all settings, use pre-designed templates for common formats, or import existing frames from your Figma file to quickly convert them into printable pages.

Method 1: Blank Document

On the main interface, you’ll see three creation options. Click on Blank Document to start with a clean slate.

In the configuration dialog, you can specify:
- Width and Height: Set the exact dimensions for your document
- Units: Choose between pixels, inches, millimeters, or other measurement units
- Pages: Define how many pages to create
- Margins: Set margins for each side of the page
- Bleed and Crop Marks: Configure print-specific settings for professional output

Access additional options including:
- Scale Factor (PPI): Set the resolution for optimal print quality
- Orientation: Choose between portrait and landscape layouts

Method 2: From Template

Click on From Template to access a library of pre-designed document templates.

Browse through available templates including:
- Standard Formats: A4, Letter, Legal, and other common sizes
- Device Templates: iPad, iPhone, Android, and desktop layouts
- Print Formats: Business cards, flyers, brochures, and more

Each template comes with pre-configured settings optimized for its intended use.
Method 3: From Existing Frames

Click on From Existing Frames to import frames you’ve already designed in Figma.

The plugin will open a selection dialog where you can:
- Browse Frames: See all available frames in your current Figma file
- Select Multiple: Choose one or more frames to convert
- Preview: See a thumbnail of each frame before selection
- Filter: Use search or filters to find specific frames quickly

Once selected, your frames will appear in the plugin interface where you can:
- Review Layout: See how your frames will be arranged in the final document
- Adjust Settings: Modify print settings, margins, and other parameters
- Add Pages: Include additional blank pages if needed
